Finding a good Halloween costume for guys can be surprisingly difficult.
You want something people will recognize, but you probably don’t want to spend a fortune on a costume you are going to wear once. And if you are going to a college Halloween party, house party, bar, or event, you also want something comfortable enough to wear for several hours.
I put together 13 Halloween guy costume ideas that range from ridiculously easy to more creative looks. There are solo costumes, duo ideas, funny options, character costumes, and outfits you can recreate mostly with normal clothes.

Aladdin
Aladdin is a surprisingly simple character costume to recreate.

And naturally, this becomes a really cute couples costume if someone dresses as Rapunzel.

Clark Kent
This might be one of my favorite easy Halloween costumes for men because you can make it with clothes you probably already own.
Wear a Superman T-shirt underneath a white button-down and leave the shirt partially open so the logo shows. Add black pants and glasses.
Done.
It looks intentional without requiring an actual costume, making it perfect if Halloween has somehow arrived and you still have absolutely nothing planned.

Dobby
If you want something cheap and intentionally ridiculous, go as Dobby from Harry Potter.
You can make the basic costume from an oversized beige or white piece of fabric. Add mismatched socks and DIY ears, and you basically have the entire look.

Which Halloween Costume Should You Choose?
The best costume depends on how much effort you actually want to put into it.
For something extremely easy, I would choose Clark Kent, Cowboy, Mario or Gomez Addams. Most of the outfit can come directly from your closet.
For something funny, Dobby, Shrek, Kung Fu Panda or Lord Farquaad are much more memorable.
And if you are searching for Halloween guy costumes for college, Mario and Luigi, Aladdin, Cowboy, Sailor and Clark Kent are all comfortable enough for an actual party.
The biggest tip I have is not to overcomplicate it. A few recognizable details usually work better than buying an expensive costume from head to toe.
You just need enough clues for someone to look at you and immediately know who you are.
